Advent is coming!

This Sunday is Christ the King Sunday, the last Sunday of ordinary time, and the final point before the season of Advent begins. It is a good time to reflect back over the year to look at our habits, our spiritual practices, and our service to others. Look for where you are strong, seek to go deeper in the Lord in those areas. Invite Him into your prayer, and your outreach to others. Do it all under His gaze and in His presence. This delights the Lord. Sometimes, we forget that Jesus also has a human heart, a resurrected heart that hungers for relationship with each of us. We are not just cogs in the wheel of the Church, but unique people to Jesus. He loves us specifically.

Look also where you struggle. Funny how this may sound, but Jesus is drawn or attracted to us where we struggle. He doesn’t expect perfection, but a heart that is open to him. Jesus wasn’t born in a palace in Bethlehem, but in a stable.

Plan to go deeper this Advent by attending our online, interactive retreat:Meditations for Christmas: A Spiritual Retreat to Prepare for Christmas. We are using the writings of Venerable Luis Martinez, the late Primate of Mexico during the Mexican Revolution and beyond. He was a master spiritual director and a mystic in his own right.  He reminds us that the “historical birth of Jesus serves as a foundation for the real and mystical birth of Jesus in our hearts” this Christmas.

Join us online for live sessions: December 1, 8, and 15, 4-5:30 PM, CST, or anytime using the recorded session. For more information and to register, go to:
